Blue Mountain - Grayton

Blue Mountain Beach, FL. Where's the mountain? Why did they name it Blue Mountain Beach? Blue Mountain Beach is the highest point on the Florida coastline of the Gulf of Mexico. In the early spring, the Blue Lupine bloom along the dunes so "back in the day" when you looked at the dunes from a boat, it appeared blue. Blue Mountain Beach is a funky little town with all kinds of residential styles available. It is also the location of Draper Lake, one of the prettiest of the coastal dune lakes in the area. Homes on or near Draper Lake enjoy views of the freshwater dune lake and the beach. Best of all worlds.

Draper Lake Coastal Village is a larger planned community developed by the folks who developed Rosemary Beach. It is one of the prettiest places on "the A" because it is perched above the lake with beautiful views of the Gulf. We also like Forest Lake across the street from Draper Lake. It is a cosy development year round because they have kept the native plants and trees.

And of course, The Retreat is exceptional. Very private and protected The Retreat is stunning in architectural value and it's luxurious homes.

Blue Mountain Beach proper, not that anything is entirely proper on 30A, is capped by the health food store "For the Health of It" and "Sally's" that sit on top of the mountain (tee hee). The street that splits south there and goes along the beach passes some sweet condos and homes that sit on the Gulf's highest point and it is home to a well-known politician but we let our famous residents act like anyone else here and respect their privacy. There are a couple of the condos in Blue Mountain Beach that have some of the prettiest pools and common areas that I have seen anywhere.

Grayton Beach, FL. is the only place where Walton County property owners can drive on the beach. Grayton is one of the few places to launch your boat directly into the Gulf of Mexico surf and people also have tail gate parties along the shore. It is a special place to locals because of the dune lake access and the proximity to the Grayton State Park. Oh, and of course the Red Bar. If you go there call us and we'll meet you.

This is the kind of view you can expect to have from a beach property in Grayton.

The perfect Grayton Beach house is any Grayton Beach house because Grayton is probably the coolest beach on 30A. Many of the homes here are sold furnished and rental ready. Grayton Beach is one of the oldest towns on the Gulfcoast. It is charming and full of fun.

Properly permitted local pooches are welcome.
