Dune Allen Beach, FL is the first of the beach towns you come to when you access the western most entrance to Walton County's Scenic 30A. Topsail State Park. Also known as Tops'l State Park, it is one of the state's finest with lots of outdoor activities to enjoy and a beautiful wide sandy beach. South Walton has a lot of land dedicated to State Parks and Forest. It's part of why 30A was designated a scenic highway. In terms of real estate available, as you pass the park, the first two planned communities you will find are Flamingo Village on the left then Cypress Dunes on the right. Flamingo Village is a nice family neighborhood home to mostly full-time residents. It's within walking distance to the local elementary school so Flamingo Village attracts families with small children. The Cypress Dunes community and Stallworth Lake is on the west side of 30-A. What makes Cypress Dunes special is that this gated community backs up to the State Park so any homes with views of the dunes are unobstructed and because of the park, they will stay that way. Homes in the vicinity of Stallworth Lake also enjoy a close proximity to the park, a walkable beach access and a beautiful coastal dune lake as well.
Look for the coastal dune lakes all along the 30A corridor. They are beautiful and rare, only found in New Zealand's Northland, Austrailia's Queensland, Madagascar and the Northwest Florida gulf coast. They are wonderful places to see and a great place for kayaking and the popular stand-up paddle board.
If you keep going east you will get to Stinky's Fish Camp and you will be in Dune Allen Beach proper. Homes here live around and in the sand dunes covered with scrub oak and pines that border Oyster Lake and the Gulf of Mexico.
One of the nicest things about Florida is the casual lifestyle. Beautiful beach views are great but it's really more than that. It's the floorplans that open to the decks, the pools, all the things that make for easy living. Homes on Oyster Lake are an example of perfect beach living.
As you travel east, you will soon be at Gulf Place. Another great spot with the Santa Rosa Golf and Beach Club as a pretty center piece. Enjoy boutique shopping and dining at the intersection of 393 and 30a. Fire Restaurant recently moved into the neighborhood too, yum. Good food, and dining outdoors. Nice. Smiling Fish will be moving to Seagrove and the owners of Tango will be moving into the Smiling Fish spot. It's all good.
We love the beach accesses here on the west end. The beach is wide and each access has something wonderful about them. A walk from Tops'l to Draper Lake will bring you inner peace.
Back on 30A, keep going east and you will pass some smaller gated communities with darling beach homes and then you will find yourself in Blue Mountain Beach.
